Tombola jars are often used as a fund raising activity but they also make a fun game for a kids party - particularly a circus party.
Empty jars are gathered and filled with treats. Each jar is assigned a number and put on display. A corresponding number is folded up and put in a box so the numbers can't be seen.
If being used for a fund raiser, people buy the opportunity to pick out a number from the box. The prize is the matching jar with that number.
Kids party game
If it's for a kids party game, the jars can be used like a lucky dip. The winners of various games can select a number and win the prize in the matching jar.
Soaking the jars in hot soapy water will help to remove labels.
If you still have sticky residue after washing, use some Eucalyptus oil on a cotton pad to remove it.
You can decorate the jars with stickers, labels, cloth covers or tying extra little things to the jar like a bubble wand with a jar of bubbles or a brush on a jar filled with paint pots.
You can fill Tombola jars with just about anything you can fit in them. When filling with edible items its best that they are commercially made and packed in the jars with their wrapping on. Avoid items that might cause allergies.
